Ladies in the gunshop!

Image
Ladies! I want to just say this is a confusing world when it comes to these gun shops.  Let me help you out with this.  First and foremost, the salesperson has no idea what you are looking for ideally, and to be honest, neither did he, until he bought a few on the recommendations from others that turned out to be the best shelf decoration in the safe ever and decided upon his own experiences and needs what he is comfortable with. Every manufacturer or make/model of handguns is unique in sizes, shapes, ergonomics, trigger pull, sights, stippling, and the list can go on.  This can get exhausting if you are "brand" shopping.   One way to figure this out is by our own "try before you buy", no gun-buyers remorse program, in which you book us for a lesson, and when you book, you want to use our stock of firearms to try in your hands.   How this works is, you no longer buy a gun to look great in the safe on the shelf that you will never use, and you learned about safety,

How do your classes work? Where do I start?

Where do we start you off?  If you tell me you have been shooting and have taken classes before, we ask which ones and which affiliation have you taken them from. NRA? USCCA? Brand X, or BIG BOX INDOOR RANGE PLACE?  I have typically 2 basic courses for anyone to start out at, even as a refresher for those who have been shooting and taught by a friend or family member, trust me, you will learn something here that they could not have taught you unless they took a class with us and remembered everything we teach, or they themselves have been a firearms instructor and know what I know.  I have been to many instructors/schools/training facilities and know what they do not teach.  -prices shown are at the time of this article, prices may have increased due to rising costs- Pistol Fundamentals, or Women's Pistol Fundamentals-  $175 6-hour course 1) Safety Rules, 2) Handgun Anatomy 3) Action Types 4) Ammunition types/storage 5) Sight Alignment 6) Trigger Cycle 7) Gear & Gadgets 8) Rang

Weak Grip? Stove Pipes? Target shots are offset

Did you know that your grip may be the reason you are slightly shooting left or right of your target?  It can also be why you are seeing a lot of “stove-piping”.  Tightening your grip and follow through are part of the fundamentals that may be troubling you.  Everyone goes through a phase of “I don’t need to take a refresher; I am good enough”.  Well, I have heard it a million times over  “I wish I would have known this years ago when I started!”   You should know the value of what we teach is above standards compared to big box range training facilities. You can see words similar to this in our reviews from students on the USCCA website. A good solid grip with follow-through will prevent stove-piping. Learn more about grip and follow-through in any of our fundamental courses on the website! www.gunpowderandlead.training/courses
