Grip, it can keep your marksmanship skills high on the mark!
A solid grip platform will give yourself an edge when it comes to handgun control during the firing cycle to acquire a follow through shot at your target.
As you pick up your handgun, firmly grip the pistol with the "V" of your hand, and grip with the middle, ring and pinky fingers, the thumb and forefinger does nothing at this point. Most of your grip is here with the "V" of your hand or web between the thumb and forefinger.
Think of grip starts from the "V" of your strong hand, or shooting hand and as a force being applied to both sides, similar to a yin and yang, but a solid forward force. Your shooting hand is twisting forward, and support hand twisting back with same type of force. Your hands covering the entire grip of the handgun, with support thumb equal to your trigger finger, and the other thumb resting atop of your other thumb. Thus making the handgun completely in your control. Grip should be of the force of a vice or concrete, so solid that nothing can break it until you are complete with your shooting.
When you have your solid grip, line up your sights with the target, take a breath and on the downside of your breath, take the shot on your target, and re-align your sights once more, focusing on the front sight, your target blurry and rear sights even with the front sight, with equal amounts of light between all 3 posts, breath out, and press the trigger rearward.
With all of this happening within a few seconds, practice does not make perfect...
Perfect Practice makes Perfect!
