Choosing the right firearm for self-defense.

This choice is personal, and unlike any other decision you have made for self-defense.

Just owning any "cool looking" gun that cost a ton of money and have not done any training with it is dangerous, and could potentially have an unwanted outcome if the need to use it exists.
Here are 3 deciding factors upon selecting a firearm for self-defense.

1) Your decision on a firearm is personal, it must fit correctly in your hand.
2) Cost is another huge decision as well, because with the cost of the firearm, you will need to be able to afford the ammunition and training as well as the gear (holsters, lights, etc.)
3) Your decision has been made to purchase a firearm, the gear and ammunition. Well, what is next?
Your training regiment should include a basic course on how the firearm operates, and the needs of your firearm obviously (will it operate the way you need it to in an immediate response to a threat?)
Self-defense training with an instructor that includes moving off the line, verbal jargon, knowing the physiological part of self-defense shooting, critical thinking under stress of time, etc.
Also, choose an instructor who is Certified and Insured, it is not only ok to ask these questions, it is imperative.

These are just some of the things you need to think of when considering a firearm to train with.
