What Firearms Instruction to you should mean.

Image
As an instructor, I see a lot of potentially great people out there doing the greater good of teaching a student how to proficiently shoot their handguns, following all the same protocols, and giving them the fist bump afterward, and fists on hips look. Are they telling you what needs to happen next? Or are they sending you on your way to get their next instruction in? As a student, I hope that you would not take that one class you took as the end-all of all training. and ask what is next. If you took the course to satisfy your partner's need in you being "proficient enough" to own one, you owe yourself to take it to the next level, and invest in your training. Please know I have your safety in mind when you come training in our "academy". Yes, you will know "how" to shoot the center of your target or create a small grouping, however, that is just to get used to the grip, firing cycle, the recoil, and perhaps a little recoil management before you

Recoil Management

RECOIL Managment      If you are suffering from recoil anticipation, you are not alone. Millions of us go through it, but some find out thousands of rounds later and lots of time and money are gone.        The best way to overcome recoil anticipation is through the combined use of a proper grip, snap-caps and follow through with each shot.  Let us start with the Grip .            What is the goal of the grip? to hold onto the handgun during the firing cycle.        The best way to set up your grip is by placing your handgun in the "V" of your hand, wrapping your middle, ring, and pinky fingers around the grip leaving your thumb and pointer (trigger) finger off the gun, the support side hand (opposite of shooting hand) then covers the rest of the grip using the palm of your hand covering all exposed grip on the side and the back with the thumbs forward, wrapping the middle, ring and pinky finger under the trigger guard grasping tightly, but only as tight as a firm handshak
