FIGHT! Like you are the 3rd Monkey and it is starting to rain!
Most likely, you have heard about Noah's Ark, and the animals 2 by 2, I am wondering if there was ever a 3rd party that showed up, I bet that was a tough call to make, and if you were a monkey, I bet you would fight to be the dominant one to aboard the Ark. That is where we get "FIGHT LIKE YOU ARE THE 3RD MONKEY AND IT IS STARTING TO RAIN! "
During a violent encounter, our “Fight or Flight” mechanisms are designated and designed for immediate survival. All other functions are put on pause. In other words, if your body is healing from a scratch, or cut, your body tells the cells to "stop".
The first thing to happen is our blood flow increases and moves to our core and major muscle groups, our breathing intensifies to bring oxygen to these muscle groups for us to fight stronger or longer than we have, or to run faster than we have ever done before.
Our bodies are under stress, trauma, and collision, we will have natural pain receptors blocked by endorphins naturally, so you may not feel pain until later after the altercation is over.
But it is not over, there are many more things that happen to us during extreme stress, our pupils will dilate enhancing our vision, allowing visual clarity, up to and including heightened visual clarity, auditory exclusion, memory distortions, and involuntary bladder controls are compromised.
A lot of instructors claim they "train you like you should fight", but it is not until you have had your doors kicked in or had someone at your car with a weapon that you will truly know how you react, and you should be told this by your instructor. They mustn't give you false information when it comes to the defense of themselves and their loved ones. We give you the tools to survive, but that survival instinct you are born with is how you will respond the first and even possibly second time. After the shock of the attacks, any future attack still depends on your inner-built system, and how it was designed, there is no "unlock" feature.
You can learn about this and more in the "Am I Ready for Firearms Defense" and the follow-through courses "Defensive Pistol- Off the X series'"
